Midland Public Schools (MPS) selected artwork from two students from more than 250 entries for this school year’s Chromebook art sticker representing the theme “Better Together.” Fourth grader Alice Kim from Woodcrest Elementary has her artwork on all Chromebooks for Pre-K through fifth grades and Elise Collier, an eighth grader at Northeast Middle School, has her work featured on Chromebooks for sixth through twelfth grades.
Appearing on more than 8,000 Chromebooks throughout the district, “Better Together,” celebrates individuals’ unique qualities and perspectives that strengthen our community by helping to create an environment where everyone belongs. The 255 entries this year is exponentially higher than the past year when the program opened submissions to all students in the school district.
“These artworks are our daily, visual reminders that diversity, equity, and inclusion are important and supported in our community,” said Dr. Yang Jiao, MPS Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. “Vibrant and original, all submissions this year feature so many unique interpretations from our students of how we can support each other and be 'better together,'
despite our differences. The hands-on opportunity also further cements our community’s commitment to create space for everyone that attends MPS."
